Assault & Public Order Offences
Assault & Public Order Solicitor: Expert Legal Defence “Protecting your rights, reputation, and freedom.” If you’ve been accused of assault or a public order offence, seeking legal advice from an assault solicitor is exactly what you need. The consequences of an assault allegation can be life-changing. A conviction can lead to imprisonment, loss of employment, damage to your reputation, and lasting restrictions on your freedom.

Assault Solicitor Covering London
Assault and public order cases in London are heard at Magistrates and Crown Courts across the capital, and I regularly represent privately paying clients at these hearings, in person or by remote video link where the court permits it. London cases are a priority for my services, and every client receives the same personal attention and fixed fee representation, whether the case is in London, Manchester, or anywhere in England and Wales.
I do not currently operate a walk in office in London. My attendance is at the police station or court itself, which is how the majority of criminal defence work is actually delivered. What matters most is that your case is prepared thoroughly and argued personally by the same solicitor from start to finish.
Types of Assault and Public Order Offences I Defend
I regularly defend clients accused of the following:
Common Assault under Section 39
Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, known as ABH, under Section 47
Grievous Bodily Harm, known as GBH, under Section 20 or Section 18
Aggravated assault involving weapons or serious injury
Assault on an Emergency Worker
Battery and Domestic Assault
Affray
Violent Disorder
Threatening Behaviour or Drunk and Disorderly conduct
Whether you are accused of a domestic related incident, an altercation in a public place, or a single misunderstanding that got out of hand, I will build a strong and carefully structured defence around the specific facts of your case.

Understanding the Allegation Against You
An experienced assault solicitor deals with cases ranging widely in seriousness, from minor allegations heard in the Magistrates Court to serious Crown Court cases involving injury or weapons. I will explain clearly what the prosecution must prove, the difference between intentional and reckless conduct, the role of injury level in classifying ABH or GBH, and whether a defence is available to you, such as self defence, defence of another person, or accident.
Where CCTV, body worn video, or witness evidence exists, I ensure every piece of footage and testimony is fully analysed and, where necessary, challenged.
Common Defences in Assault Cases
Self Defence
You are entitled to use reasonable force to protect yourself or another person. As your assault solicitor, I will review all witness and CCTV evidence, assess whether your actions were proportionate and necessary, and challenge any exaggeration or inconsistency in the prosecution case.
Mistaken Identity or False Allegation
False accusations are common, particularly in domestic disputes, nightclub incidents, or roadside altercations. I investigate motives for false reporting and highlight inconsistencies to expose unreliable witnesses.
Lack of Intent or Accident
Not every incident amounts to a criminal act. I can argue that your actions were reflexive, defensive, or misinterpreted, showing there was no intention to cause harm.
No Evidence or Unreliable Evidence
Many cases collapse because the prosecution cannot meet the high burden of proof. I regularly make representations to the CPS or submissions of no case to answer where the evidence is weak or inconsistent.
Domestic Assault Allegations
Domestic related allegations are treated with particular sensitivity and seriousness by the courts and police. Even where the complainant later withdraws their statement, the CPS often continues with the prosecution. Having a specialist assault solicitor who understands the nuances of domestic proceedings is crucial to securing a fair outcome.
I provide discreet and compassionate support throughout, ensuring the case is reviewed for procedural and evidential fairness, that any retraction statements or non molestation orders are properly handled, and that you receive fair representation at every bail and trial stage. My priority is to protect your liberty and reputation while keeping family matters as private as possible.
Public Order Offences
Public order offences range from Section 5 disorderly conduct, such as shouting or swearing in public, through to affray and violent disorder involving multiple people. I will analyse the context and proportionality of your actions, whether the police response was justified, and whether your freedom of expression or right to protest has been infringed.
In many cases, I can secure discontinuance, conditional cautions, or non conviction outcomes such as absolute or conditional discharges.
What Happens When You Call: Three Simple Steps
Call or message me in confidence, at any time, to describe your situation.
I review the allegation immediately and tell you where you realistically stand.
I represent you personally, in person or by remote video link, at your police station or court, including courts across London.
Mitigation and Sentencing
Even when guilt is admitted or proven, how your case is presented to the court can make a substantial difference to the outcome. I take time to understand your personal background, mental health, employment history, and any underlying issues such as stress, trauma, or addiction.
Where appropriate, I instruct psychiatric or psychological experts to support your mitigation, often reducing the sentence substantially or avoiding custody altogether. This thorough preparation can be the difference between a custodial sentence and a community order.
